Let’s Talk!
Our Let’s Talk programs focus on educating parents about the importance of talking, connecting and playing with their children from newborn to 5 years old.
Blessing Hospital and Passavant Hospital are the first point of connection. Nurses share the message of responding to babies and talking with babies as they teach swaddling, diaper changing and bathing skills with new parents in the childbirth center. The parents receive a free package of diaper wipes with a “Let’s Talk!” sticker. They also receive practical ways to talk with their newborns on their “Let’s Talk!” cards.
Health departments in 10 area counties rely on the trusted messengers, the nurses, to share this important message with parents of children from newborn to 5 years old and to give a Let’s Talk! Onesie as a reminder.

Women Infant Children (WIC) Staff give each parent a “Let’s Talk about Food!” bib. Mealtime is a great time to connect and talk with children.
